The Honorable Stuart Kyle Duncan
Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit Judge Kyle Duncan received his B.A. from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1994, his J.D. from the LSU Law Center in 1997, and his LL.M. from Columbia Law School in 2004. After graduating from law school, he clerked for Judge John M. DuhĂ© of the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to taking the bench, Judge Duncan served as the Appellate Chief of the Louisiana Attorney General’s office and as an Assistant Solicitor General in the Texas Attorney General’s office. In addition, he was an assistant professor of law at the University of Mississippi Law School and served as general counsel of the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty in Washington, D.C. Finally, he practiced law at the Washington, D.C. firm of Duncan PLLC and Schaerr Duncan LLP, where he was a founding partner. He was appointed by President Donald J. Trump to the U.S. Fifth Circuit on May 1, 2018. |
